Starting with the Amstel Gold Race, the sports directors and mechanics of Team LottoNL-Jumbo will use 18 new Octavia and Superb Combi vehicles from Skoda. Besides that, the ice skaters of Team LottoNL-Jumbo will continue their way to new victories and records in the Octavias Combi.
LottoNL-Jumbo, both the ice-skating and cycling teams, will join in the Freedom Day or Liberation Day festivities. The team will ride on the Liberty Route Europe in Gelderland. They are expecting thousands of cycling fans for company during the Freedom Ride. It is part of The 6 of Lotto, a set of big cycle tours through the Netherlands. The team is asking other teams to participate, as well.

Stage 15 provided stunning image of the rugged mountains of Spain. From the gun it was hard racing in this stage. After 50km a group broke clear with Maarten Tjallingii of our team.
LottoNL-Jumbo was on the attack again in Saturday’s eighth stage in the Vuelta a España. Belgian Jesper Stuyven won the sprint of a depleted group in Murcia in a crash-filled stage. Timo Roosen brought the yellow-black of Team LottoNL-Jumbo home in 59th in Murcia.

It was a really hot day during the 6th stage of La Vuelta. The riders needed a lot of water and ice to cool down the body.

Last Sunday, the Classic Milano- Sanremo took place. Team LottoNL-Jumbo rider Maarten Tjallingii was, like the year before, in the breakaway. His 11 fellow breakaways and him weren’t caught by the peloton until kilometer 265. How much energy does it take to spend a day in the breakaway?
The Milan-Sanremo selection of Team LottoNL-Jumbo participating Sunday at La Primavera spent yesterday evening some hours in the Bianchi Café & Cycles Milano. A hip café where you can enjoy a good cup of coffee, our Celeste Bianchi bikes and a beautiful atmosphere.

Marcel Hesseling, Team LottoNL-Jumbo’s nutritional expert, competed at a high level in mountain biking for several years and even road with, amongst others, Bram Tankink and Maarten Tjallingii. Now he doesn’t just advice the riders about nutrition, but also works closely together with the soigneurs and partners of the team.
